Lieutanant Lynch

Lieutenant Dennis Lynch is a 45 year veteran of law enforcement and has been with the Oviedo Police Department for 19 years.  He holds a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice and an Educational Doctorate degree. He has taught criminal justice as an adjunct professor at Valencia State College and at the University of Phoenix.  He has been an advisory committee member for Remington College’s Criminal Justice Program.  

He has served in a wide variety of positions in law enforcement including: a police hostage negotiation team, community response team, and airport containment team.  He has worked: Drug Enforcement Administration Agent, Vice, Patrol, Police and Corrections Police Academy Coordinator, and Training.  

He has been a supervisor or manager in virtually all areas of police work including: investigations; internal affairs; professional standards; public information officer; community involvement; youth section; international airport; K9 and reserve unit.  

He is a graduate of the 47th Class of the Southern Police Institute.  

He is currently the Professional Standards Lieutenant/Public Information Officer  with the Oviedo Police Department.
