Finance Department

The City of Oviedo Finance Department's primary responsibilities are:

  • To safeguard the City's assets
  • Ensure maximum utilization of revenues
  • Provide financial support to operating departments
  • Report accurate and timely financial information to management, City Council, and the citizens of the City of Oviedo  

The City of Oviedo Finance Director is Jerry Boop.

The Department offers:

  • Accounting
  • Financial Reporting
  • Treasury Services
  • Payroll and Purchasing Services to City departments
  • Customer Utility Billing

The department's services also include providing financial analysis such as the preparation of the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, billing and collection of revenues, accounts payable and travel, coordination of all City purchasing, cash and investment management, pension management, debt service management, and the disposition of all surplus property.

Management & Budget

The Management and Budget Office is responsible for coordinating and directing the development of the City’s Annual Operating Budget and five-year Capital Improvement Program (CIP). In addition, the Budget Office:
 

  • Monitors Revenues and Expenditures
  • Coordinates the on-going implementation of the Performance Outcome System, including evaluation of performance results of all city programs
  • Provides technical assistance to the City Manager, Elected Officials and City Staff.

The Budget Office is under the direction of Assistant City Manager.
