Mission

The mission of Public Works Operations is to enhance the City of Oviedo's quality of life through effective and efficient maintenance, minor construction, and operation of its physical environment. 

Responsibilities

Public Works Operations accomplishes its mission by providing strategic planning, resource coordination and implementation for its Streets/Sidewalks, Stormwater, Arbor/Landscaping and Fleet Maintenance divisions. While each division has its own unique function all divisions work together as a team and share resources to accomplish the overall mission of the Department. 

Public Works Operations also has the responsibility for hurricane and pre-storm preparations, and post event clean up.  These responsibilities include clearing the public drainage easements, collecting trash that could become airborne, and preparing City facilities.
