SR 426 and Mitchell Hammock Road/Red Bug Lake Road Turn Project
Please note, this is a Seminole County project. Construction for the referenced project began on December 1st . It is scheduled to last through approximately March 1, 2015. The location is at the intersection of Mitchell Hammock Road/Red Bug Lake Road and SR 426. The County project includes construction of a new left turn lane westbound on Mitchell Hammock Road, widening Mitchell Hammock Road to the north to accommodate the new turn lane, installation of a 4’ concrete traffic separator, installation of curbing, modification to existing storm structures, installation of storm pipe, removal and installation of the City’s water main, and related items.
Maintenance of traffic may require intermittent delays and single lane closures during the construction activities. County staff is coordinating with City staff for updates and items regarding the water main portion. In addition, a City Inspector is on site to monitor the water main removal and installation.
FDOT Resurfacing Project
The Florida Department of Transportation and Southland Construction began two roadway improvement projects in Seminole County on August 26, 2013. The projects consist of milling and resurfacing the exiting SR 434/419 from Jetta Point Drive to North of Mitchell Hammock Road, and SR 426 from Pine Avenue to SR 434. Expect intermittent lane closures.

Roadway Work on CR 426
Seminole County Government is currently conducting construction activities along SR 426, which include safety, drainage, and shoulder improvements. The project starts near Division St. in Oviedo to SR 46 in Geneva. The project is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2014. Lane closures may be encountered while work is underway. As always, if you are driving in the area, please maintain vigilance in regard to other traffic and workers.
