The Wastewater Headwork's Improvement Project is now complete at the City's newly acquired Wastewater Treatment facility. The project involved the replacement of three existing flow equalization tanks with a single new flow equalization tank and one automatic bar screen, with a manual back-up screen to provide more efficient operation. Specifically, the project provides new aeration blowers to replace the existing blowers, new pumps to pump wastewater from the screening process to the new flow equalization tank, and new pumps to pump wastewater from the flow equalization tank to the biological treatment units.
Odor maintenance domes were installed on the new headworks tank and two existing sludge tanks, as illustrated below.
The project began in January of 2011 and was completed in December 2011. Cost of the project is $2,070,740.
