Public WorksWelcome to the City of Oviedo Public Works Department webpage. The Public Works Department is currently managed by Public Works Director Bobby Wyatt. The department is organized into three divisions. The divisions are Engineering, Operations, and Utilities. For news and information regarding each division, please click a link on the left side of this page. The Manager of each division is as follows: Bobby Wyatt - Engineering Josef Grusauskas - Utilities David Waller - Operations If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to contact the Public Works Department at 407-971-5692. If you wish to contact the City's Utilities Department regarding water or sewer services please call 407-971-5692. The emergency after-hours, weekend, and holiday contact number for utilities such as water, wastewater and reclaimed water is 407-971-5675. If you wish to contact the Public Works Operations for issues related to roads, stormwater, trees, etc., they can be reached at 407-971-5668 from 7:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. If you need to contact Public Works Operations during non-business hours, you may leave message at 407-971-5640. Unless it is an emergency, someone from the Operations Department will contact you the next business day. Report Street Light OutagesThe City of Oviedo does not maintain street lights or electricity service within the City. Depending on the location of the street light within the City limits, there are two different companies that handle street lights (and consequently all power related utilities). Although there are some variations to this rule, a basic way to determine which company most likely services your area is as follows:
If you are WEST of the C.R.419 Econlockhatchee River Bridge (the majority of the City of Oviedo with the exception of the above locations), contact Progress Energy at 407-629-1010 or click on the following link: https://secure.progress-energy.com/sid/custservice/fla/selfservice/electric/streetlight?page=res If you are unsure on which company to call, either company can direct you to the appropriate authority if they are not responsible for the street light. If all else fails, feel free to call the City of Oviedo Public Works Department at 407-971-5668 for assistance. For either company, please have the exact location of the light pole available.
