Barracudas Summer Swim Team is designed for the novice swimmer.  We practice several days a week and compete in meets.  The swimmers will work on their strokes, distance swimming, starts, turns, finishes, and relays.  The meets are held at the Aquatic Facility on Friday nights/Saturday mornings throughout the summer.  All swimmers receive ribbons for every event.

General Information:
 - Swimmer ages 6-13 years old  (must be 6 by June 3)
 - Swimmers MUST pass the tryout prior to registration
 - Season runs June 3 - August 3
 - Practice time is your choice at registration on a first come, first serve basis - there is NO
   difference in practices
 - Practice times are limited to 45 swimmers
 - Swimmers will be divided and coached by age group in each practice - age groups: 6-8 
   year olds, 9-10 year olds, 11-13 year olds
 - Practice days & times:
          Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays
               7:30-8:30am - Blue Barracudas   FULL
               8:30-9:30am - Green Barracudas   FULL
         Tuesdays & Thursdays
               6:30-8pm - Red Barracudas   FULL
 - Swimmers may be placed on the waiting list if they have passed the try-out.
 - It is recommended swimmers miss no more than three weeks of practice
 - Barracuda swimmers compete in swim meets throughout the summer months - meets are
   required
 - Swimmers must attend at least five regular meets to qualify for the Championship Meet
 - Meet Dates: June 8, 15, 22, 28, July 6, 13, 20, 27
 - Championship Meet: August 3

Try-outs:
 - Try-outs are held at the following times: 
          April & May - Tuesday & Thursday 6-8pm - Aquatic Facility
          Sat 4/13, 4/20, 4/27 9:45-10:15am - Riverside Pool
 - Swimmers who cannot make the try-out times may contact Lori to set-up alternate times
 - Swimmers must be able to swim 50 yards of freestyle with correct side breathing, 25 
    yards of backstroke, 15 yards of breaststroke
 - Swimmers must complete try-out prior to registration

Registration:
  The team is currently full - you may place your swimmer on the wait list if they have passed the try-out. 

Cost:
  Includes t-shirt, swim cap, meet ribbons, award & season end party
    Oviedo Residents - $105
    Non-Residend Members - $135
    Non-Residents - $160
