Business Watch Program
As a City of Oviedo business person, you know crime can affect your business, your customers, and your employee’s peace of mind. For these reasons, we would like to introduce you to the Oviedo Business Watch Program. Call 407-971-5731 to request a copy of our brochure.
Businesses Working Together
This crime prevention program encourages businesses to work together to protect their common interests. The business watch concept is simple: businesses watching out for businesses. When businesses actively watch out for one another, it can help reduce the incidence of crime in our community. This cooperative effort can make our community’s business watch program successful.
Burglary, shoplifting, and financial crimes are major concerns of our business community. By working together and sharing information with neighboring businesses and your police department, many problems can be avoided, decreased, or resolved. Businesses and their employees become additional “eyes and ears” for the police department.
Participating in the Program
The Oviedo Police Department encourages your participation. We believe in crime prevention, rather than simply reacting to a crime committed against your business. We can assess your business safety needs through the services of a Crime Prevention Officer. We will also offer Crime Prevention training to you and your employees, as well as Crime Alerts in your business community via email.
Talk to your neighboring businesses about becoming part of the Oviedo Business Watch Program. A positive business partnership with the Oviedo Police Department can result in a more favorable business climate and allow us to be aware of and attentive to your needs.
Call 407-971-5731 to request a ocpy of the Business Watch Registration Form. The more complete the information you provide, the more effective we can be to assist you with the safety and success of your business. The form can be returned via fax, mail, or in person to the Community Involvement Unit.
