Fire Explorer Program

About the Program

The City of Oviedo Fire Rescue Department has established a Fire Explorer Program which allows youth ranging from 14 to 21 years of age to participate in the mentoring program. Typically, these are individuals that have some desire to pursue a fire service career or perhaps are wishing to participate in a program giving back to the community in which they live. The program is sponsored by the Boy Scouts of America.

Program Activities

Fire Explorers in the program will participate in hands on and class room training, participate in community special events, perform ride along mentoring, and much more. A maximum number of participants is established and it may be necessary to be placed on a waiting list.
