Recreation & Parks is preparing to resurface the parking lots at Shane Kelly and Riverwoods Parks, next Tuesday, January 20th. This work is scheduled to take place over a three-day period, followed by a 10-day cure time for the new asphalt surfacing, pending any vendor or weather-related delays. If all goes well both Parking lots will open on Monday, February 2nd.
At Shane Kelly Park the main entrance off County Road 426 will be closed for the duration of the project, park visitors should use the Bark Park entrance off Lockwood Blvd. City Staff will be blocking additional driveway space outside of the access gate at the main entrance to be resurfaced. Park restrooms will remain open during the project. There will be maps posted with the yellow markings providing the path to them. All lower field access points to the parking lot will be block and closed, all park users will need to utilize the path marked photo for restroom access.
At Riverwoods Park car access gates off McCully Court and Hart Branch Dr. will remain closed for the duration of the project; pedestrian walk-through gates will remain. City Staff will be blocking additional driveway space outside of the access gates at both entrances to be resurfaced.
