The City does require that an employment application be submitted in order to be considered for a current open position. You may call our jobline at 407-971-5529 for current openings or view our Job Opportunities page. In place of a paper application the City has adopted an online application process.

Application Status

We understand that you are interested in learning the status of your application. Please be assured that the Human Resources Department will notify all applicants of the final status of their application. We manage a large volume of applications on a continual basis, and appreciate your patience during the process. It is not necessary to contact us to inquire about your status after submitting your application.

Drug-Free and Tobacco-Free Workplace

The City of Oviedo is a drug-free and tobacco-free workplace. When an applicant is offered employment, it is conditional upon successfully passing a nicotine and/or drug test which screens for the presence of nicotine, controlled substances, narcotic drugs, nicotine and alcohol. Refusal to take the test, or failure to pass the test according to minimum standards, is cause for disqualification. If employed, the City may require subsequent drug tests. Refusal or failure to pass the test according to minimum standards, will result in termination.
